Bukit Besar is a hill of about 596 m elevation in Jambi Province, Sumatra, Indonesia, rising roughly 278 m above its surroundings with a base width of around 7.3 km. It lies in a very sparsely populated area (about 9 people/km²); the terrain is mountainous to the northeast and flatter to the southwest.
