Description
Blanca Peak rises to 4,374 metres as the highest summit of Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Wikidata confirms the identity, elevation and coordinates of this non-volcanic peak. The main approach through Lake Como continues onto the rocky Northwest Ridge. Trip length depends strongly on where vehicles stop along the approach road, so distances from the lake and from lower parking areas must be distinguished.

SourceClimbing Experiences
This collection covers Blanca–Ellingwood videos, the Lake Como approach and the Little Bear–Blanca traverse. Colorado Mountain Club’s August 2026 report adds an overnight account of the demanding approach and exposed scrambling. The sources cover different routes; technical traverses do not represent the difficulty of Blanca’s standard ascent.
